Idyllic self-catering camps in northern Fish River Canyon
There are 4 camps. The Base Camp, which consists of several open-plan rooms with sharing ablutions, as well as a barbecue area. The other camps namely Camp Battlesnake, Koelkrans and Horseshoe Camp each have 7 twin bedded huts and the main hut which has covered seating area and a small kitchenette, as well as fireplace.
We have adapted the Standard Operating Procedures for all our service Centers and lodges in line with the Government of Namibia’s instructions to the tourism industry. The best time to visit the rocky vistas of the Fish River Canyon is between April and September. If you are going hiking, the ideal time to do so is in the winter months, which are rainless and have comfortable, cool temperatures. Take note that the popular Fish River Trail is only open for pre-booked hikers between April and September. Summertime (December to February) is scorching hot with daily temperatures of 38°C - 41°C. The preceding spring months (September to November) have slightly lower temperatures but are still quite hot.

This farm style accommodation has dormitory type accommodation. There are 5 communal bathrooms each with showers and toilets. There is a barbeque area on a spacious veranda.
Camp Battlesnake

Built on the cliff overlooking the magnificent Fish River Canyon. There are 7 cabins, each with twin beds. A shared ablution block. A communal area has cooking facilities and a dinning area. Outside is a barbeque area.
Koelkrans Camp

A small cabin, built on a ridge, serves as a dinning area and kitchen, while the 7 overnight twin bedded cabins are set below. Enjoy views of the river. There is a fire pit. Shared shared bathroom facilities.
Horseshoe Camp

Horseshoe Camp is built on the rim and has exquisite views over the horseshoe-shaped river far below.There are 10 twin bedded cabins with shared bathroom facilities - THE BEST VIEW EVER! There is a cabin with cooking facilities and a dinning area.
