Lodge set among red sand dunes deep within the Kalahari Desert
Camelthorn Kalahari Lodge finds itself in a secluded valley hidden amongst ancient camelthorn trees. The lodge’s design and ambience reflect not only the location but the indigenous San people as well. Accommodation is offered in 12 rondavel-style thatched huts. Each room is fitted with comfortable beds and crisp white linen, and the San-inspired décor complements this stylish yet simple design.

Namibia is best visited between May and October when safari viewing is at its best. Between the winter months of May and July, daytime temperatures are moderate, while nights can get quite cold, so remember to pack a warm jacket. The veld fills with baby animals during the summer months of November and December. This is also an excellent time for birders as many migrant bird species have returned. The rainy season is from November to April, resulting in dramatic thundershowers and even desert flooding.
