UMVA Muhazi, a cluster of free-standing, rammed earth structures standing tall on the Lake Muhazi shore, beckons you to adventure. The unique structures of this boutique lodge are the first of their kind in the region and boast tasteful minimalistic designs together with being more carbon efficient. Guests can have an inspired Rwandan gastronomy experience with the option to indulge in a 4-course dining experience every night, made with fresh and locally-sourced ingredients. Look forward to a wide range of activities, including kayaking tours, bird watching, and community walks. UMVA Muhazi’s sustainability initiatives range from supporting local community initiatives and garden-to-table dining, to making food waste compost and avoiding single-use plastics.

2The Pod accommodates guests with 1 king-sized or 2 single beds. Both the bedroom and the bathroom with a shower have a view of Lake Muhazi. Rammed earth walls, hand-crafted furniture, and wood from the local region provide a natural and immersive atmosphere, while double sliding doors open onto a private patio with seating.

1•2The Birdhouse offers a lofted bedroom with a king-sized bed and a built-in bathroom underneath with a solar-heated rain shower and toilet with a view. This tiny house is designed to maximise space efficiency and minimise environmental impact. Features include a mosquito net, rammed earth walls, double swing doors and beautiful lake views.

2•2The Bungalow comprises a king-sized bed, a living room, a couch that transforms into an additional king-sized bed, a dining table, 2 patio decks, and 1 bathroom. The shower offers a private yet open view, while the unit features floor-to-ceiling windows with a Lake Muhazi view. Features include local hardwoods, hand-crafted furniture and rammed earth walls.
