A safari camp immersed in the Delta's wilderness with views of stunning floodplains

Immerse yourself in wild luxury at Tubu Tree Camp on the Delta’s Hunda Island, the largest dryland area of this wetland. Watch iconic wildlife from the camp’s hide, float around in the pool overlooking the floodplains, and sleep out on the star bed. Find out why they are famous for predator sightings on game drives and seek out leopards, wild dogs and hyenas. Afterwards, a boat or mokoro ride can take you along the enchanting bird-rich Delta channels. As a way to reduce their footprint and build up their connection with the community, Tubu Tree offers cuisine made from locally grown ingredients. Their efforts extend to their involvement in sustainable conservation, including curbing poaching and overfishing.

Best time to go to Botswana

Best
Good
Acceptable
Botswana's climate ranges from arid to semi-arid and is marked by hot and rainy summers, usually between November and March. This ‘green’ season is the best time to spot migrating birds, predators, and baby animals. However, many lodges in the Okavango Delta close during these months, so do check before you book. The dry season, between April and October, is the prime time to spot animals as they frequent water sources. This is also when the Delta floods, making it a great time for water-based activities. These months are a fantastic time to visit the salt pans, which will be dry from about June to September.
