A remote camp in the enigmatic Savute landscape of Chobe National Park
Savute Under Canvas is located near the mystifying Savute Channel it’s named after, feeding into the Savute Marsh, an area well-known for elephant-hunting lions. The ideal place to disconnect, this mobile camp even has a private butler standing by to assist with anything you may need. Savute Under Canvas offers soul-stirring scenery and has a sustainable model that extends to the land, wildlife and people. Relax in the dining tent with a bar and feast on Pan-African cuisine prepared over an open fire and enjoyed under the starry African sky next to a crackling fire. &Beyond's professional guides make safari adventures exceptional with interpretive game drives where you can choose how you spend your time tracking and admiring the wildlife.
Best time to go to Botswana
Botswana's climate ranges from arid to semi-arid and is marked by hot and rainy summers, usually between November and March. This ‘green’ season is the best time to spot migrating birds, predators, and baby animals. However, many lodges in the Okavango Delta close during these months, so do check before you book. The dry season, between April and October, is the prime time to spot animals as they frequent water sources. This is also when the Delta floods, making it a great time for water-based activities. These months are a fantastic time to visit the salt pans, which will be dry from about June to September.
The low-impact Safari Tents boast ample space and comfort. Each mobile safari tent comes with a double bed or twin beds, and the en-suite bathroom features a separate toilet and an open-air bucket shower with hot water provided on request.
