An immersive and sustainable stay in the heart of the Namib Desert
Nestled in the heart of the Namib, Namib Desert Lodge is a unique and inspiring lodge surrounded by red sand dunes, rugged mountains, endless plains, and desert wildlife. Half of the lodge’s energy needs are met by 1.700 solar panels on the lodge’s roof, and the lodge is equipped with a wastewater recycling system to save as much of this precious resource as possible. Guests can bask in the beauty of the desert, taking part in activities such as nature walks, game drives, and even sleeping under the stars.

Namibia is best visited between May and October when safari viewing is at its best. Between the winter months of May and July, daytime temperatures are moderate, while nights can get quite cold, so remember to pack a warm jacket. The veld fills with baby animals during the summer months of November and December. This is also an excellent time for birders as many migrant bird species have returned. The rainy season is from November to April, resulting in dramatic thundershowers and even desert flooding.
