A family-friendly, Pan-African styled lodge in Lalibela Game Reserve
Experience the African bushveld at this laid-back, family-friendly lodge with its beautiful stone and thatch chalets. Set in the unforgettable Lalibela Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape, a stay here gives back by supporting their conservation efforts and community enrichment. Quality time can be spent lounging around 1 of the 2 pools or relaxing in the central lounge area. Spot a variety of antelope, giraffes, elephants, or even the occasional predator at the waterhole and from your own private viewing deck. End off each night under the African sky while enjoying a fireside dinner in the boma.
Best time to go to Eastern Cape Game Reserves
The Eastern Cape has a Goldilocks climate – not too hot, not too cold – with plenty of sunshine, making it a prime year-round destination. The best time to visit for wildlife viewing is in the dry winter season from May to September as the foliage is sparse and animals flock to water sources. The winter nights can be very cold, so you will need your fleece and beanie. Between October and April, reserves are busier owing to the warm weather. You can also enjoy an abundance of baby animals, spring flowers and migratory birds during this period.
The King Rooms are charming, African-inspired, en-suite rooms, each with their own private viewing decks looking out over the surrounding bush. The chalets can each accommodate 2 adults and 1 small child sleeping on a daybed.
The Family Rooms are perfect for families of 2 adults and 2 children, with a partitioned children’s sleeping area in the lounge area. There is also 1 family suite available, which can accommodate 4 adults and 2 children. Amenities include air-conditioning and an en-suite bathroom with a shower.
