The Xitsonga word 'Makumu' refers to an expansive, unobstructed view over horizons. Guests can check out 'iThumbela' or 'place to hide', a ground-level photography bunker overlooking a watering hole, and visit Eco Children. This initiative emphasises hands-on environmental education, started by Klaserie Private Nature Reserve and supported by Makumu. The skilled ranger and tracker team also offer twice-daily game drives and wildlife tracking on foot.
