A malaria-free conservation reserve where the lions outnumber the game viewers
Lalibela Game Reserve is a conservation project spanning 10.500 ha and encompassing 5 different ecosystems in the Eastern Cape. With no public roads passing through, it offers an undisturbed safari experience in its malaria-free environment. Lalibela emphasises the conservation of indigenous plant and wildlife species, including anti-poaching efforts for endangered species, while considering and enriching the local community through upliftment projects. With large areas of the savannah grassland biome, the surroundings allow this reserve to support a great number of plains game. This abundance means that they can sustain an impressive density of free-roaming lions. They also boast predators like the cheetah, hyena, jackal and lynx as well as the unmissable Big 5.
