Off-grid glamping tents overlooking iSimangaliso Wetland Park’s False Bay

Enjoy glamping in comfort at Hluhluwe Bush Camp in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Relax at the pool with sun loungers overlooking False Bay Park, or on a deck while watching nyala, reedbuck and duikers. Hluhluwe Bush Camp is entirely off the grid with their advanced system including solar panels, inverters, a generator and borehole water with a treatment plant. The farm stall offers fresh, homemade produce with much of it grown in their greenhouse. The team at the camp have made a 2,5 km walking trail in their own backyard to explore the fascinating flora and fauna — called ‘Kambusha’, meaning ‘buck’ in Zulu. The camp’s ideal location also allows travellers to have top bush and beach experiences within a short driving distance.

Best time to go to Elephant Coast

Best
Good
Acceptable
The subtropical climate of the Elephant Coast offers visitors year-round warmth thanks to the Indian Ocean and closeness to Mozambique. The region has hot, wet summers and cooler, dry winters. With most of the rainfall occurring during the summer months, the best time to visit varies depending on what activities travellers would like to do. November and January are the best for tracking turtles, while whale watching is great between June and November. For the best beach weather, visit between April and September.
