The dry season between May to September is the best time to visit, when water is a scarce resource and wildlife gathers around the waterholes, which in turn produces excellent game-viewing opportunities. Rainfall in the park is relatively evenly distributed throughout the year, but there are 2 peaks, during February and March and again during October and November. During the midyear winter months, frost may occur, making the park icy-cold.
