A classic safari experience in luxury tented suites
Gorah Elephant Camp is the only private concession and camp situated in the centre of the renowned Addo Elephant National Park and features so much more than just a boma area and a sparkling pool. The camp’s manor house is a fully restored national monument originally built in 1856. Inside, you will find a comfortable lounge with armchairs and a fireplace, while outside you can overlook a waterhole for convenient wildlife viewing. Safari drives and walks are led by qualified guides and there are special safari experiences available for children. This malaria-free stay is home to 320 recorded bird species as well as the Big 5, including the densest population of elephants on Earth.
Best time to go to Addo Elephant National Park
The dry season between May to September is the best time to visit, when water is a scarce resource and wildlife gathers around the waterholes, which in turn produces excellent game-viewing opportunities. Rainfall in the park is relatively evenly distributed throughout the year, but there are 2 peaks, during February and March and again during October and November. During the midyear winter months, frost may occur, making the park icy-cold.
Luxury Tented Suites
Sheltered under thatched canopies, Gorah’s 11 tented suites are commodious and grand, boasting king-sized beds and solar-powered lighting. These en suite tents offer all the conveniences of a luxury stay, while their private decks and scenic savannah views immerse you in a classic safari experience.
