A tranquil nature retreat outside Stanford flanked by mountains and a lagoon

Settled between the Maanschynkop mountains, Walker Bay Nature Reserve and the Klein River sits a peaceful escape amongst a milkwood forest. Overlooking a bay frequented by southern right whales nursing their calves, the area is known for its abundance of birdlife and breathtaking scenery, as well as the charming town of Stanford, which is just 15 minutes away. Stanford boasts a rich cultural heritage and an excellent foodie scene, making it the perfect place to stroll through after an afternoon of relaxing on the lagoon or exploring the hikes in the area. Coot Club believes that community conservation goes hand in hand with protecting the pristine wilderness in which it sits and has upliftment initiatives in both.
