A boutique Cape Town hotel where modern finishes meet classic architecture
The stunning 4-star Carmichael House Boutique Hotel is just as luxurious as it is charming. This restored Victorian mansion, built in 1901, is situated in the beautiful southern suburbs of Cape Town, within driving distance of the magnificent Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and an array of lovely restaurants. Each room is decorated and named after individual gemstone colours, which adds a touch of personality to your stay. Kick back at the pool, indulge in a spa treatment, or enjoy a hearty breakfast on the veranda. Remaining conscious of their impact, Carmichael House has incorporated a number of sustainable approaches to the daily running of the hotel such as striving to reduce food wastage and applying water and energy-efficient solutions.

The Cape Peninsula has a Mediterranean climate marked by warm, dry summers and cool, wetter winters. For northern hemisphere visitors, take note that South Africa’s seasons are reversed, so July is the middle of winter, and January is peak summer. The Cape Peninsula experiences most of its rainfall in the winter, from June to August. Although winter can have quite dramatic storms, warm sunny days are not uncommon.
