Boutique glamping tents on a working ostrich farm in the magnificent Karoo

Discover a functional ostrich farm that’s only a 10-minute drive from the centre of Oudtshoorn. Here you’ll stay in self-catering glamping tents with wooden decks for you to lounge on while you gaze at the Swartberg Mountains or admire free-roaming indigenous game like zebra, springbok, blue wildebeest, kudu, impala, eland, waterbuck, and nyala. The activities on the farm teach guests of all ages about the value of South Africa’s farming industries and how each guest has a direct impact on the world they live in. AfriCamps Klein Karoo is also dog-friendly, so 1 dog per tent can be taken along by prior arrangement.

Best time to go to Garden Route

Best
Good
Acceptable
The best time to visit this region is in the warmer months of September to April. The Garden Route is rainy throughout the year and is a popular summer destination that can get busy over the Christmas holidays. You will soon understand why, as you feel the warm rays while kloofing, abseiling and paragliding or simply taking a dip in the azure Indian Ocean. The months of May to August are colder but will provide opportunities for whale watching (peaking in September) with more windless days to enjoy.
