The Khwai Community Concession is owned and managed by the local Khwai community, sitting on the northern edge of Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana's Okavango Delta. The 180,000-hectare concession is renowned for high concentrations of predators, excellent leopard sightings, and healthy wild dog populations, alongside elephant, buffalo, hippo and giraffe. Unlike neighbouring national parks, the concession permits night drives and off-road driving, giving guests a more flexible safari experience. The Khwai River draws wildlife year-round, with the dry season from May to October offering the best game viewing as animals congregate around water

Best time to go to The Khwai Community Concession
The best time to visit is May to October, when wildlife viewing is at its peak and weather conditions are most comfortable. As the dry season progresses, the Khwai River draws large concentrations of wildlife, making game viewing increasingly rewarding. November to April brings rain and occasional access difficulties, but also the best birding as migratory species arrive.
