With fly-in safaris being a popular choice, accessing the Okavango Delta and its private safari lodges is often done via light aircraft from Maun or Kasane airports to nearby private airstrips. Afterwards, transportation by vehicle or boat to the lodges is arranged. Some lodges in the eastern Delta can be accessed by 4x4 directly from Maun, bypassing chartered flights, but we only recommend self-driving if you have the relevant experience.
