Addo Elephant National Park
About the area
Addo Elephant National Park is South Africa’s third-largest national park and has fantastic conservation and biodiversity programmes to protect its beautiful flora and fauna. This 164.000 ha park is home to one of the densest populations of African elephants on earth, so you are sure to see these gentle giants roaming around during a visit to this park. The reserve is also home to the Big 7 (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, leopard, whale, and great white shark) as well as a flightless dung beetle found almost exclusively at Addo! This malaria-free area has accommodation ranging from luxury 5-star lodges to backpacker facilities, with numerous recreational activities.
