The residence of immense biodiversity and panoramic vistas
Among Limpopo’s mountainous savannah lies an area that is not only one of the most significant San rock art areas in South Africa but also an extensive malaria-free wildlife viewing experience. A UNESCO conservation project, the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve is made up of different reserves and settlements that come together to support conservation, sustainability and development. In between, you will also find rural villages, farms, small towns, and an environmental education centre. In this bushveld district, visitors stand a chance to encounter the rare tsessebe and can look forward to frequent white rhino sightings and rich biodiversity featuring more than 5.500 species of plants.
