Best time to go to Stone Town
The best time to visit Stone Town is from June to October and December to February, when the weather is dry, warm, and ideal for walking tours and exploring the narrow streets. These months also make for pleasant evenings at the Forodhani night market or on a sunset dhow cruise. The rainy periods in April and May, as well as November, see heavier showers, but they also bring fewer tourists and lower prices at boutique hotels. For travellers combining a safari with the Zanzibar islands, the dry season offers the smoothest experience both in Stone Town and on the surrounding beaches.
