Best time to go to Nairobi National Park
The best time to visit Nairobi National Park is during the dry seasons from June to October and January to February. With shorter grass and fewer water sources, wildlife is easier to spot, making this the prime time for guided game drives and close encounters with lions, giraffes, and the famous Nairobi rhinos. Birdwatchers will also enjoy the green season from November to March, when migratory species arrive from Europe and Asia. The long rains from April to May bring lush landscapes, but heavy showers can sometimes make tracks muddy and less predictable. Since the park is so close to the capital city, it’s easy to visit year-round — whether as a quick Kenya safari day trip or as part of a longer journey through East Africa.
