Best time to go to Mikumi National Park
The best time to visit is from June to October, during the dry season when animals gather on the Mkata floodplain and visibility is at its best for lion and elephant sightings. The grasses are short, the skies clear, and game drives consistently rewarding. From November to March, light rains transform the plains into a lush green landscape, ideal for birdwatching and seeing young antelope. The wettest months of April and May can make some tracks muddy, but wildlife remains active year-round.
