Best time to go to Lake Nakuru National Park
The best time to visit Lake Nakuru National Park is during the dry seasons from June to October and December to March, when the roads are easiest to navigate and wildlife congregates around the lake’s shrinking shoreline. These months offer excellent visibility for big cat sightings, birding, and rhino tracking. The green season (April–May and November) brings lush vegetation, ideal for photography and a quieter safari atmosphere. Flamingo numbers vary with water levels, so each visit feels unique. Temperatures remain mild throughout the year, making Nakuru a comfortable destination for both day trips and overnight stays in one of the park’s scenic lodges.
