Best time to go to Lake Kariba
Lake Kariba is a year-round destination, but the dry season from June to October offers the most reliable wildlife viewing and pleasant temperatures. During these months, animals concentrate along the shoreline and the bush thins out, making game viewing from boats particularly rewarding. September and October are hotter, yet excellent for predator sightings and fishing. The green season from November to April brings dramatic skies, occasional storms and lush landscapes. Birding is exceptional, and the lake feels quieter. Travellers who prefer mild weather and strong wildlife activity should aim for winter; those drawn to scenery and birdlife will enjoy the rains.
