The best time to visit Hoedspruit is during the dry winter months between June and August, when wildlife viewing is at its best. The coolest month is July and during this time, visitors can expect chilly mornings and evenings. Hoedspruit has a savannah climate with lots of sunny days throughout the year, and a summer season extending from November to March. The hottest months are December, January and February, presenting afternoon thunderstorms and temperatures that can rise to 40ºC.
