Best time to go to Central Masai Mara
The best time to visit the Central Masai Mara depends on what you want to see. For the world-famous wildebeest migration safari, the peak months are July to October, when river crossings deliver some of Africa’s most dramatic wildlife encounters. This is also the best season for a big cat safari, with predators in full hunting mode. From December to March, the landscape is lush and filled with young animals, offering excellent photography and quieter safaris. April and May bring the long rains, when roads can be muddy, but the scenery is beautifully lush and green. The short rains in November refresh the plains without heavily disrupting travel.
