The Timbavati Nature Reserve spans an impressive 580km2 of savannah along the western border of the world-famous Kruger National Park. Conservation is the driving force of this nature reserve, which has at its heart research-centred projects focused on addressing the threats posed to leopard and elephant species and the protection of indigenous bird life. Timbavati is home to over 40 mammals, including the Big 5, over 360 bird species, and 85 listed species of trees. The nature reserve is most famous for its resident white lions, a spectacular sight to behold.
