A rustic, charming retreat where animals come right up to your door
Settled in Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, Lulani Bush Retreat is a charming getaway where travellers can enjoy watching animals such as zebra and antelope wander right up to their doors. Situated in the quaint town of Hoedspruit, guests can sample local restaurants and pubs, or explore the reserve via cycling paths, walking routes, and game drives. Lulani is only a short distance from the world-famous and Big 5-rich Kruger National Park, with the Orpen or Phalaborwa gates being the closest. Alternatively, visitors can explore the Panorama Route and see the incredible Blyde River Canyon. Lulani is also conscious of its footprint, with sustainable measures in place ranging from water conservation to limiting single-use plastics.
Best time to go to Greater Kruger Region
The best time to spot wildlife in the Greater Kruger Region is during the dry season, which typically falls between May and September. This wintertime season offers the best opportunity to spot the wildlife as the animals are drawn to the waterholes and other sources of water and the vegetation is less dense. During this time, the days are warm and the nights are cooler. The summer months have more rainfall and the green landscapes provide a stunning backdrop for photos. Plenty of young animals and their predators are present and bird watching is particularly enjoyable.
