Klein-Aus Vista Camp offers 10 basic campsites, set under large camelthorn trees in a small valley of the Aus Mountains, surrounded by granite outcrops. The campsites all boast braai facilities, a picnic table with benches and a windbreak. For unparalleled views across the plains, go for a walk along the popular sunset trail. The camps are also ideal for those exploring the region or travelling to and from Lüderitz.

Best time to go to Aus

The best time to visit Aus is between October and May. This marks spring and summer in the desert town. Although rainfall and poor weather is unlikely throughout the year, these months provide the most sunshine. However, January, February, and March are Aus’ hottest months with temperatures reaching over 30 degrees celsius. From March to May, Aus experiences most of its tourism making it more vibrant, but those looking for good rates and fewer crowds should visit in June, July, and August.
