Known as Namibia’s “garden town”, Okahandja will leave you recharged, relaxed and gratified by the hospitality of the people that occupy it. The town's rich history, dating back to the 1800s, is rooted in the native Herero group of Namibia. Okahandja is still of great cultural significance to the Herero, as it is the burial place of many great leaders.

The best time to visit Okahandja is between July and October. In these months, you can expect comfortable temperatures just above 20℃ and minimal chance of rain. Because of the low rainfall, chances for seeing wildlife in nearby parks are much higher as varieties of animals flock to waterholes. Note that this season will be more popular and as a result, you’ll need to plan your trip well in advance to visit this quaint and cultural town.
